About The Skills Center
The Skills Center provides academic instruction and development of life skills through athletics. Formed in 2008 as a 501(c) 3 nonprofit sport - based youth development organization, The Skills Center enhances positive life skills for young people in the Tampa Bay area. The Skills Center provides development training in basketball, golf, tennis, baseball, football and soccer through its after school camps, summer programs, sport leagues, skill development clinics and an AAU team.
The organization’s programs and activities are dedicated to promoting leadership, character, responsibility, respect, integrity, teamwork and sportsmanship while emphasizing social and educational growth. The organization’s goals are to teach kids how to transfer the skills they learn through sports into other areas of their lives, and most importantly, have a learning experience that will last a lifetime.
